RaShonda is a Music director, composer, pianist and artist. The Saginaw, Michigan native holds a Bachelor of Music from Howard University in Washington D.C. and a Master of Arts from New York University.

Following the release of her first EP in 2018 entitled, Girl Born on a Monday, RaShonda has performed at Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Sid Gold’s Request Room, Joe’s Pub, Park Avenue Armory and a host of other NYC venues, including "The Shed- Open Call" where she served as Music director for HIR, the original opera by Richard Kennedy. She also performed in Kennedy's Collapsed Operetta, “A Touch of Elegance” which premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Virginia Commonwealth University in November 2019.

Her Spring 2020 work, “A Day with Mae” (a composition based on the words of NASA Astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison) was commissioned by Trio Triumphatrix, as part of the Voices of Ascension Inaugural Concert series in NYC 2021-2022.

In the Spring of 2022 she was featured as an artist in residence at Soho House in Berlin, Germany and as the keyboardist for My Barbarian’s residencies at both the Whitney Museum of Art in NYC and Disney’s Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater (Redcat) in LA.

She released her second solo project, Scorpio Moon in the Spring 2023. That same year she served as the Music Director for Hybrid Peasant, a three-act tragic comedy operetta created by Richard Kennedy in January of 2024 at Performance Space New York’s Keith Haring theater.

She was most recently selected as a 2025 artist-in-residence at the distinguished UCROSS foundation in Wyoming for her compositional work paying homage to the Black soldiers of the U.S. Army's 24th Infantry Regiment aka Buffalo Soldiers that participated in the Mutiny of 1917.

2025 is also the year she unleashed Scorpio Maroon, the fiery, honest, psychedelic alter ego of the artist formerly known as RaShonda Reeves. In November of 2025 Scorpio Maroon released her latest single, “Maroon’s Dance”- “ a love letter to movement, mystery, and the power of presence,” says Scorpio Maroon. This song carries the spirit of resistance and the rhythm of our collective resilience. It’s an offering of enlightenment, an echo of evolution, and a step toward the sound of a New Earth.”
